Internship is a 13-week field experience that further exposes student-teachers to supervised teaching activities in Belizean primary schools. Student-teachers will teach in a primary school and interact with students, teachers, administrators, and the community. Pre-service teachers (without a teaching position), will be placed in a school and will work closely with an on-site cooperating teacher and a college supervisor. In-service and pre-service teachers (with a teaching position), will work closely with a mentor teacher from the host school and a college supervisor. Student-teachers will participate in a variety of planning, teaching, and assessment experiences. Each student teacher must be engaged in at least three hundred (300) hours of supervised teaching.
