SP282 is a course that enables the reader to read and explore the language and structure of Spanish Literature. Students will have the opportunity to identify the various eras during which Spanish Literature has developed and evolved. The study of the various genres in different eras will enable the students to also study the historical and social contexts that have influenced and shaped Spanish Literature.  The students will have the opportunity to cover the literature needed to complete the CAPE syllabus. Each piece to be studied in this course will allow the student to draw the connection between the literary piece and the themes found in the CAPE syllabus. The reading and studying of these pieces should be a culturally enriching process that will help the Caribbean student to better understand, respect and appreciate the values, beliefs and behavior of the Hispanic culture.

SP244 is a course that enables the reader to read and explore the language and structure of Spanish. Through the use of a variety of activities and methodology, students will be exposed to the grammar, mechanics and vocabulary that will enable them to speak, listen, read and write in correct Spanish. The course is designed to provide the students with the knowledge of idiomatic and colloquial expression that will give them the opportunity to identify various registers. The reading and studying of the language should be a culturally enriching process that will help the Caribbean student to better understand, respect and appreciate the values, beliefs and behavior of the Hispanic culture

SP142 is a course that enables the reader to read and explore the language and structure of Spanish. The course has been designed to enable students to develop their communicative skills ( reading, writing, speaking and listening), in a foreign language, as they are able to appreciate the intercultural experience as they explore the selected themes/ topics and contemporary writings that are relevant to the Caribbean society and experience. SP179 intends to provide students with language competence as they enrich their cultural experience and are able to understand their role as Belizeans within the Caribbean, Central America and global context.
