Students will have the opportunity to identify the various eras during which Spanish Literature has developed and evolved. The study of the various genres in different eras will enable the students to also study the historical and social contexts that have influenced and shaped Spanish Literature. The students will have the opportunity to cover the literature needed to complete the CAPE syllabus. Each piece to be studied in this course will allow the student to draw the connection between the literary piece and the themes found in the CAPE syllabus. SP179 intends to provide students with language competence as they enrich their cultural experience and are able to understand their role as Belizeans within the Caribbean, Central America and global context.
