This course is designed to offer students a good background on the Principles of Counting, Matrices and Complex Numbers as they move on into university furthering their studies in mathematics. In the past it has been noted that students find difficulty in reading and interpreting mathematical problems. Therefore, we introduce them to Mathematical Modelling to get them used to thinking critically and at the same time empowering them to succeed in any career they pursue. Students often find themselves applying basic mathematical procedures without full comprehension of the context in which the rule is being applied. Additionally, of essential importance, is the view that math being a science should serve to enhance the students' reasoning and problem solving skills. Math is often viewed as strictly problem solving. It is additionally important that the student be able to describe in written form outlines of procedures and terms most often used in the language of math.
